The Tooth Fairy saves a trip

So Evan has had his first loose tooth for well over a month and a half since we thought it would fall out by his birthday which was August 13th. Sunday, two days ago, Austin said he thinks he has a loose tooth. Then he comes home from school Monday and had lost his first molar! Needless to say Evan was more than a little jealous. So he keeps twisting and turning all afternoon but to no avail. Finally as he's headed off to bed and knowing that The Tooth Fairy is already coming tonight for Austin's first molar, he got brave and gave it a big tug! It went flying and got lost in the carpet as Evan starts crying because it hurt and he's bleeding and trying to find his treasured tooth in our tooth colored carpet. Poor guy. I sent him with Dad to rinse his mouth while I combed the floor. Nothing. Evan and Dad came back and started helping. Then I felt it. A hard little something in the carpet. Evan's first lost tooth. He was so excited and relieved. He even came back out of bed to tell me "Thank you for finding my tooth mom!" So two teeth sat on the boys' night stand last night and two boys both got a dollar in the morning, and The Tooth Fairy got to save on gas! The End.

Now I get it!!!

So I've been wanting to see Mamma Mia for quite sometime now. Then all around me I kept hearing people were going back 3 or 4 times. I invited a friend a few weeks ago, but she's just too bust so I grabbed another friend and went Sat night. I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt! We stayed until it had been over for awhile (if you leave during the credits you'll miss some of the best stuff!) Then we drove straight over to Wal-mart at 11:45pm and bought the sound track. 2 days later now I almost have it memorized! The best part about watching it at the Edwards is their booming surround sound. You can sing your heart out and even the person right next to you can barely hear you. So grab a girlfriend, go see the funniest chick flick ever, warm your voice up before you go and stay till the very end!!!!!

Earlier that day Justin and I went to Cats at the Colonial. I've never seen such an incredible set here in our modest sized city. The choreography was phenominal, the costumes were amazing, the storyline was surprisingly touching. They were only here for Fri evening and Sat matinee, but if you have the chance to see them somewhere else, you should go.
Tickets are expensive though.

No more Theater Factory

I normally only want to blog positive things, but I must let people know to stop buying tickets for Whodunit? Though we had a verbal agreement that the dinner theater was now ours, after dozens of hours of preparation and planning and researching, after several hours of auditions and rehearsals with 12 incredible actors, after telling everyone I know about our exciting new venture, the previous owners pulled the plug. No apology, and no real explanation. They didn't even tell us first. They e-mailed our cast and said that they were canceling their show. What????We've been burned by them before, but never this bad. Guess we should have know. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. We hadn't signed paperwork yet because they were busy and we are people of our word. If only everybody was. But I suppose it's serendipitous really, because then we would be stuck with partners who just don't hold the same values we do. I hope and pray that those of you who bought tickets can get your money back in a timely manner, as we have no control over that whatsoever. Please let me know if you have problems though. We'll try to help. I still believe that IF needs some good wholesome entertainment so we'll try to do something soon. I get tired of the standard dinner and movie and I think a lot of people feel the same way. We'll be back!!!!!

Labor Day weekend

First we woke up Sat morning and took Evan to his first ever Soccor game. He did awesome! He just kept getting in there and was never afraid. Then the boys and I headed to Island Park to meet my parents and the girls. Justin headed off to Boise for the week. When we got there they were just putting the boat in the water so Chast got to go for his first boat ride! He even got to drive the boat!

Of course everyone else took a turn too.

Then they were driving us nuts so we left them stranded on an Island........

Then the kids decided to try the tube. The 3 middle kids played for quite awhile. Then Evan and Ashley decided to go for an actual ride. He is giving the thumbs down for "slow down" while she doing thumbs up for "speed up!"

Austin the Dare devil?????

Ummmm, he didn't even want to go on the boat in the first place. He was really upset when we made him go. But after he got over it, he drove the boat, played on the Island, swam in the water and then he went the fastest and longest on the tube! Most the time we have to "force" him to have fun, or he'd sit home on the computer and spend his life alone if we'd let him!

Then we spent the rest of Sat, Sun and Mon at the cabin. Grandpa took them on 4 different treasure hunts! Pretty spoiled kids! And there were beautiful bright red fish in the creek for the first time in 15 years!

Teus and Wed were pretty rough as things were piling up on my plate and dad was still a few hundred miles away. But we made it work and he made it home Thurs morn at 2:30am in time for Emily's 5th birthday!

The kids were so excited to see him. All day they kept saying "you're not going again right?"

At preschool they spent an entire half an hour talking about Emily and learning what all she likes and dislikes and singing her a special birthday song. It was so sweet. I could just feel how special it made her feel.

Then we got to go to Austins soccor game that night

Then Saturday after yet another soccor game :) we took the kids to the fair where we ate fabulous fair food, played games, went to the petting zoo, and watched a hypnotist show.

They had a blast in the kids zone, but were very disappointed the reptile tent wasn't there again. Last year they got to hold an alagator and a big huge yellow snake.

Running behind.....

Wow am I behind! I had the most crazy busy stressful week but it's getting better. We'll just start with how we celebrated our anniversary last Friday. First I got roses delivered from Justin. Then we started out by passing off the kids to two different sources. I guess we have too many kids for anyone to take them all? Justin's parents took the boys and my parents took the girls. Then off we headed to the adventure I planned to surprise Justin with.

We rented Segways from Spinners. I thought it would be a fun unique thing to do, but I had no idea just how much fun! I think this was the best date we've ever had! Those things are amazing! I felt like George Jetson! WooHoo you gotta try it! We'll be going back ASAP!
The only bummer was that we didn't want to get off so by the time we went to our planned destination for dinner, The Collage (the finest restaurant in town!) they had decided to close early due to it being a slow night! We had both been really looking forward to going there. It's pricey, but worth it. The food is so incredible it's like you've never tasted food before. A whole new realm of dining experience. He had said I didn't need to make reservations when I called, but I would recommend it so they don't close early on you if you go! Then we headed off to Athens for the night! Or rather Destinations Inn's version of it.......

It was very beautiful. These pictures do not do it justice. We spent the first half hour just gazing at the room. They do a very nice job. We had also stayed there in the Paris room on Justin's 30th birthday awhile back. Gorgeous! They had sparkling cider -on ice- and cheesecake waiting for us when we arrived and in the morning a fancy room service breakfast is included.
I thought I could sleep in, not having a baby or 4 children to tend to, but alas my internal clock did not agree and still awoke me promptly at 6:45 AM.
Then it was back to real life to take Evan to his first ever soccer game!
I'll post that, and the rest of this crazy weeks happenings tomorrow!
