Evan's Spiderman Party

Well the dinosaur party run has ended. Though Evan still loves the prehistoric beasts, he chose Spiderman for his party theme this year after 3 consecutive years of Dino-mania. 3 years may not sound long to you, but remember that is half of his life! Yes, Evan is officially 6 now. His birthday was the first day of first grade, though the rest of the first graders will be turning 7 during the school year. That's what happens when your birthday is 2 weeks before the deadline. The funny thing is that Emily is only 12 1/2 months younger than he is, but they will be 2 years apart in school since her birthday is just 3 days after the deadline. Oh but she's ready for kindergarten this year. I wish there was a kindergarten readiness test for children with August and September birthdays. Being only 10 1/2 months apart, Austin and Ashley would have been in the same grade had they been born in those months instead of the spring!

But I digress. The party was a hit. We had seven boys over. We played on our new water slide.

They alternated between that, the trampoline and the swingset. Then we came inside for presents,

cake and ice cream. Many boys asked for seconds, some for thirds and one even wanted to take some home. Then we had a few extra minutes, so they went back out to the water slide until their moms came.

Later that evening we took the kids to The Theater Factory to watch "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare abriged" It was HILARIOUS!!!! You've GOT to go before it ends.
