Sedation Denistry

All I can say is wow. Justin went in for some major dental work yesterday. He needed so much done, that he was scheduled from 8AM to 1:30PM! With this much work Comfort Dental recommended sedation dentistry where you take a combination of pills and drops to acheive a state similar to anesthesia. Crazy! I've never seen someone so out of it! Eyes half shut, severe stumbling, words slurring, falling over when I'd slowly push the brakes, and he doesn't remember any of our conversations or anything for the entire day yesterday because it's side effect is temporary amnesia! Well, at least he's back to himself this morning!

Tag - You're it!

Julie tagged me the 6th folder, 6th picture so here it is. Little Emily a couple years ago all dressed up for church. Wow she actually has grown! Not much, but she has!

I tag everyone who reads this, and leave a comment so I know who's blogs to go look at!

Baby's first haircut

Here's the BEFORE:

He thought it was pretty fun

Most of the time

Never cried once and it took 15 minutes!

AFTER:

Since it was actually warm here in Idaho, we also thought we'd let him see what grass feels like for the first time:

Didn't like it on his feet

Not too sure about the fingers either

But look! There's mom taking pictures! I like her!

I'll try crawling to her

Oh nevermind! Yuck!

What do I do? I am stuck here!

Come get me mom! I DO NOT like the grass experience!

Hey Julie (or anyone), try THIS green smoothie!

MINTY GREEN SMOOTHY

1 ripe banana, peeled and broken into pieces
1 medium apple, cored and cut into chunks
1 lemon, juiced
2 to 3 cups water
3 to 4 lettuce or spinach leaves, rinsed
3 to 4 kale leaves, rinsed and torn
1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves
2 to 4 Tbs fresh mint leaves

Remove tough stems from Kale and break into pieces. Place the banana pieces, apple chunks, pear chunks, lemon juice, and water into the blender. Blend on high, stopping as needed to push the fruit down.

Add lettuce leaves, kale pieces, parsley, and mint leaves; blend again until very smooth. Add more water if needed and blend until completely smooth and brilliant green.

I have a few more that sound as good as this one in a book I have called Whole Food Recipes.

Lemony Cabbage and Cranberry Smoothie or
Tom's Fruity Medicine Chest Smootie

Let me know what you think of it!

Happy Birthday Ashley!!!!!!

TEN

So technically Ashley's birthday was yesterday, the 12th. But I didn't have time to blog since I was making her a fancy breakfast, then had lunch and recess with her at school and after school I took her shopping then we went out to her birthday dinner, then we had the other party. Plus a few things in between all this! But our little girl is now 10!!! She was so excited to now be in the double digits! And she just enjoyed all the attention she got all day long! And it doesn't end there! Grandma J took her to dinner and to get her b-day gift Wednessday, she gets to have all her friends come to the aquatic center for cake, ice cream and swimming on Sat, and then Grandma H will take her on Monday! Sheesh, birthdays are becoming week long events these days!

And now Austin is telling everyone that he is 10 and 3/4 because he can't possible be the same age as Ashley. "I AM ten and a half months older than you are" he says to her.

So we have two 10 year olds, and no, they are not twins! Every year for 6 wks they are, for all intents and purposes, the same age.

Ashley is so fun and full of life! She loves to sing and dance. She makes up songs and dances with her friends all the time. She is so good at following the rules, even when no one is looking. And she's amazing at making new friends, alway wanting to include everyone, and sticks up for people at school who are getting picked on. Sometimes she tells me to stay in my room or my office for a while, and surprises me by cleaning the kitchen. She's also been fixing her own hair beautifully for a couple years now. She has friends ask her to fix their hair when she gets to school cause they like what she does better than what their moms do! I've never been good at fixing hair, she does a much better job than I do. And when she can get Emily to sit still, she fixes her hair better than I do too!

Slacker

Wow have I become a blog slacker since discovering FaceBook! I used to want to blog the same day something happens, now many things go unblogged, and I haven't even thought about posting our trip last weekend until today! Or maybe I just have less time to myself these days. Probably a combination of both!

Salt Lake City
Friday: Museum of Ancient History

Then we ate at the most horrible Chinese Buffet I've ever been to! The food was rock hard!
But at the hotel, Chase had his first time in the pool! He loved it!

Saturday: Some shopping and The Children's Museum
Plenty of stuff here for all ages!

They have rock climbing, news room, pretend grocery store, puppet theater and so much more!

And what trip to Salt Lake would be complete without Chuck E. Cheese?

We didn't have any pictures of MY favorite place to eat - The Macaroni Grill, but it's definately worth an honorable mention!

Now I'll try to catch up on everyone else's blogs!
